The Cobras were simply outmatched from a physical standpoint by the Bears, who took a 14-0 lead into the half, before closing things out by a score of 20-6.   The pressure produced from postseason softball cannot be overstated. For the past two seasons, the Sigourney varsity softball team fell short of reaching the Regional finals: first, losing to an excellent Lisbon team two years ago, and then falling to an HLV team that it beat the first two times during last season.
