Area Boys Compete at SICLs

5-6 SICL Track & Field Championship @ Marengo

 

The four area boys’ track and field teams didn’t put together the greatest results in the final team standings at last Tuesday’s South Iowa Cedar League conference meet; it had nothing to do with effort, though. Sigourney, Keota, Tri-County and English Valleys finished in the final four spots in the team standings at SICLs and it was due, primarily, to a relative lack of team members.

Sigourney had the best day on the boys’ side of the four area squads, finishing eighth with 47 points. Despite only having seven members, the Keota boys’ squad scored 38 points and placed ninth. Tri-County and English Valleys tied for tenth with 11 points. Belle Plaine took home the team title with 150 points, while Lynnville-Sully got second with 122.
