Bair Makes History with Consecutive IHSRA Queen Crowns
Emma Bair, a sophomore at Tri-Count High School and resident of Keswick, raised the bar with back to back crowns.
For the first time in the history of the Iowa High School Rodeo association (IHSRA) Queen pageant, Bair was crowned Queen two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014.
Six judges with expertise in a variety of backgrounds from equine to livestock tally points on each contestant through a series of six events with additional points awarded for personality and appearance. Bair scored the highest overall points in the combined events: written test on the NHSRA rulebook, a 15-minute interview with the judges, modeling, a two-minute speech, an impromptu question and a horsemanship pattern.
