Bears, Trojans Duel in North English

The English Valleys and Tri-County varsity volleyball teams met last Monday in North English with Keokuk Country bragging rights on the line.

            Both teams came into last Monday’s match without a conference win, making the matchup that much more significant.

            Things started poorly for the Trojans, but even after losing the first set, Tri-County stormed back to take the final three sets and get its first SICL win of the season.

            The win improved the Trojans’ record to 2-20, including 1-9 in conference play, while the Bears dropped to 1-22 overall and 0-10 in SICL play.

            English Valleys played some excellent volleyball, initially, last Monday, winning the first set by a score of 25-23.
