Boys Postseason Basketball Honors

Sigourney

Will Magill (SR)- SICL Honorable Mention

Will served as one of two seniors for Sigourney this year. He was the lone returning player besides Haines who had seen significant time in the past. Magill did a fantastic job leading his team and helping mold this young Savage boys basketball team, so that they may now use this experience to build upon in the future. Magill averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 rebounds a games. He had a total of 105 points on the year as well as 50 rebounds. Magill also had 18 assists on the season, and 22 steals with eight blocks defensively. The Savages moving forward will miss Magill’s supreme effort.

Dustin Haines (SO)- SICL Honorable Mention

Haines had a terrific sophomore campaign and really grew as a player and a leader throughout the season. Haines averaged 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds a contest. He was second in rebounding with 131 total on the year. Haines led the Savages with 242 points a game. Haines had 40 assists on the year, landing him the second most on the team. Defensively Haines had a team high 47 steals. He took pretty good care of the basketball with less than 2.5 turnovers a game as the primary ball handler for the Savages, and will continue to work on that aspect, as well as his shooting, moving forward to help get Sigourney basketball back where they want to be.

Pekin

 

Cameron Millikin (SO)- 1st Team All-Conference (SEISC)

Millikin and his older brother Ryan set the pace of the Panthers offense and defense all season long from the frontcourt. Cameron Millikin was well deserving of his 1st Team All-Conference selection, as he led the Panthers with 14.5 points a contest. He connected on 59 3-point field goals on the year and shot 80 percent from the foul line in 50 attempts from the charity stripe. Millikin had 42 steals, 22 assists and blocked four shots, as well as adding three rebounds a game and 63 total boards on the season. Millikin will continue to improve as a player and help get the Panthers ready for a action as a junior.

 

Ryan Millikin (SR)- 2nd Team All-Conference

Ryan Millikin was the Panther’s second-leading scorer; with a 14.1 average a game. Millikin shot an amazing 81.8 percent from the free-throw line, knocking down 72 of 88 attempts. He also co-led the Panthers with 45 assists, and tied for the lead with 42 steals on the season. Millikin added a little over three boards a contest with 67 total on the year. Millikin also shot over 45 percent from the field on the year. Ryan Millikin did a great job running the offense, and was tenacious on defense; showing his athletic ability and speed every chance he could. He will be missed moving forward by Pekin, as he was a tremendous athlete for the Panthers.
