Cheryl Quinn joins KCMC staff

Dr. Cheryl Quinn, D.O., will be the newest family practice provider joining Keokuk County Medical Clinic, beginning this week.

Dr. Quinn is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with experience in family practice previously working in Jefferson County. She will see patients of all ages on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the clinic, which opened its doors last summer after the closure of the University of Iowa clinic. Dr. Quinn joins Robert Castro, M.D; Brian Murphy, ARNP; Lucia Obradovich, M.D.; Jin Zhou, ARNP and Shelly Edwards, ARNP as a provider for the clinic. She will also be the medical director for the Keota Health Care Center.

Before working in Fairfield, Dr. Quinn received her Bachelor’s from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and her MD from Des Moines University before taking up her residency at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, MI through Michigan State University. She saw a flyer for an open position through a colleague and made contact with KCMC in November. As Dr. Quinn learned more about the clinic, she says she grew “interested in the culture and positive environment here.”

“I enjoy working with a variety of people in this setting,” Dr. Quinn said. “It’s neat to care for families of all ages and it feels like a team here.”

Dr. Quinn is a resident of Ottumwa and lives with her two son-Liam and Roan-along with two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys creating silver jewelry for family and friends and tie dying.

“I look forward to being a resource for care in our community,” Dr. Quinn said. “I encourage anyone who feels like they need help to come in to see me and I will do my best to provide for your needs, or find you the right person for your care.”
