Cooperation Gleans Favorable Results for Local Needy Children

Pekin Community School District’s FCCLA (Family Career Community Leaders of America)  Club started with a small service project to help a few needy children during the holidays — the Angel Tree Project, according to Club Advisor, Lisa Strausser.
 
Though starting out small, the Angel Tree Project quickly grew with the cooperation of Pekin’s National Honor Society, faculty advisor Antoinette Wittrock, and Spanish Club, faculty advisor Christine Coffin.
 
They took Christmas Angels from the tree and bought “wished for” gifts for 28 children and teenagers. After everything was purchased, the group donated the remainder of funds to the Salvation Army Red Kettle drive.
