Dan O'rourke Named President of County Bank

Sigourney, Iowa- Terry Greenley, Chairman of County Bank, headquartered in Sigourney, has announced leadership changes at the Bank that will take effect on July 1, 2018.

Dan O’Rourke, a career banker and loan officer, has been appointed President of County Bank. O’Rourke will retain his role as Senior Loan Officer and will also oversee operations, marketing and human resources. Tom Bates will retain his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of County Bank with responsibility for strategic growth and outreach.

“County Bank has been fortunate to have Tom Bates at the helm for more than half of his 40+-year career at the Bank,” said Greenley. “We are glad Tom has decided to take on a more focused role in looking at strategic growth for the Bank as we begin implementing a long-term succession plan for County Bank.”

Fran Fleck, Chair of Fountain View Bancorp., Inc., the parent company of County Bank added “As we prepare to enter our 20th year of ownership of County Bank, our Board of Directors is focusing how we prepare the Bank to transition into the next decade. This is the next step in putting our plan in place and Dan O’Rourke is the right person to provide the leadership to make it happen.”

O’Rourke joined County Bank in 1984 and has held a series of increasingly responsible positions including more than 30 years as a loan officer, Ag Loan Representative and Senior Loan Officer. He was named Executive Vice President in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University, is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado, and also holds certificates from the American Society of Rural Appraisers. Mr. O’Rourke is active in the local community and serves on a variety of boards and committees including the Sigourney Kiwanis, the Sigourney Area Development Committee and the Indian Hills Community College Foundation. He is also a member of the legislative committee of the Iowa Bankers Association.

Together Bates and O’Rourke have been instrumental in growing County Bank from a single-location $40 million bank when it was acquired by Fountain View Bancorp in 1999 to a $150 million bank with offices in Sigourney, Deep River, Gibson, Hartwick, Montezuma and Williamsburg and off-site “PATs” (personal automated tellers) in Sigourney, Montezuma and Victor. Their focus on relationship-building with customers has been a hallmark of the County Bank way of doing business.
