Donations Blossom for Town Square Park
With spring just a few short days away... Committee members for Town Square Park are eagerly anticipating turning some dirt on the newest addition to the City of Sigourney.
The fundraising arm of the TSP committee is pleased with the donation progress during the long winter months; as of the end of February, a total of $3,250 in community donation has been received. This does include the $500 check from the Sigourney Kiwanis organization (pictured above).
Activity is starting to flourish amongst the committee members with construction day scheduled for June 6-8 with a service group from the National Guard reporting for duty.
The fundraising arm has been busy applying for several area grants and with announcement dates quickly approaching, they are looking forward to announcing more awards in the near future.
A Soup Supper is planned in conjunction with the Sigourney High School’s production of Peter Pan and Wendy on Friday, March 28.
There’s no need to worry, let the committee members of TSP cook up supper on this busy night.
The TSP Soup Supper is slated for service beginning at 430 through 7 p.m. at the Sigourney Fire Department. The ‘soup of the day’ is homemade chili and Wisconsin cheese soup. Committee members are baking up some tasty treats for dessert. This is a free will offering event with the proceeds going to help build the Town Square Park.
This is also a good opportunity for community members to refresh themselves of the plans for the park. Should anyone wish to make an early contribution, a donation card is available on Page 2 of this week’s News-Review.
