Dr. Megan Timm welcomed to community

Sigourney, Iowa- Sigourney has seen a lot of changes in the past year. Recently, the changing of the guard occurred at the form Kapple Dental Associates. Dr. Megan Timm recently purchased Kapple Dental Associates and is expected to fully takeover on September 1. However, effective immediately, Kapple Dental Associates is now known as Sigourney Smiles and Williamsburg Smiles. Timm said she is excited to be returning to the local area.

“I always knew I wanted to come back home, to the home area, and practice dentistry… It worked out perfectly,” she said.

Timm is a 2010 grduate of Williamsburg High School. After going to Williamsburg High School, she attended Mount Mercy for her undergraduate degree, majoring in Biology. While she was at Mount Mercy, she had a change of heart with where she wanted to go for her career.

“I thought I was going to be a nurse and then realized quickly that was not what I wanted to do,” Timm said

After deciding that nursing was not for her, Timm realized that she wanted something that fit in more to her schedule and would give her more time with her family.

“I really wanted a family friendly career. I wanted something that would allow me to be there for my kids and have the flexibility and the good work life balance,” Timm said of the draw to dentistry.
