Eagles Back at Top
By Adam Meier,Regional Sports EditorAfter finishing third behind Lynnville-Sully and Sigourney last season, Dan Stout’s Keota squad is back on top of the rest of the South Iowa Cedar League. Two wins last week ensured an outright conference title for the Eagles and makes for their fifth in the last six seasons. The Eagles’ first game, along with most of the conference, wasn’t until last Thursday, after Tuesday’s contests were postponed across much of Eastern Iowa. Keota traveled to Thornburg and took care of business against an improved Tri-County team that recently knocked off Iowa Valley. The Trojans kept close for a half, but a dominant second half by the Eagles helped Keota pull away for the 67-40 win.For the full article and more photos see the February 12, 2014 issue of The Keota Eagle.
