Eagles Host Keota Relays

After getting cut short last spring due to stormy weather, the Keota track and field teams successfully hosted the Keota Relays in its entirety last Monday.

Joining the Eagles on the boys’ side were English Valleys and Sigourney, and joining them on the girls’ side were Belle Plaine and English Valleys.

The Savages took the team title with 78 points while the Eagles finished third with 34.

The Keota boys earned three gold medals on the night, two by individuals and one in a relay. Winning the distance medley relay was Keota with a time of 4:15.98. Luke Lyle brought home the individual title in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.73 seconds, while Ben Horras won the 200 in a time of 25.09 seconds. Freshman Jacob Wickencamp turned in a solid run the 100-meter dash by running a 12.23 to place second.
