Eugene P. Van Zee

                Following a bravely fought battle with Alzheimer’s, Eugene P. Van Zee, age 90, of Gibson, passed away on September 26, in Oskaloosa.  

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the Gibson United Presbyterian Church in Gibson, Iowa, with Reverend Hans Cornelder officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery near Leighton. A procession will form at the Gibson United Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday for those wishing to go to the Cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements were visitation will begin Tuesday morning after 10 and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-8 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Gibson United Presbyterian Church or Keokuk County Hospice.
