EV Girls Outmatched at Regional Finals

As good as the English Valleys girl golfers have been this season, they simply weren’t up to par with their competition last Tuesday at the Class 1A Regional Final in Reinbeck.

The Bears made the 90-minute drive up to Reinbeck’s Oak Leaf Country Club last Tuesday morning with the goal of finishing as one of the top two teams in the six-team field, but wound up finishing in sixth. EV’s top four golfers of Rylee Voss, Clair Kingland, Jessica Riegel and Sydnie Stephenson, finished with an 18-hole score of 444 – one stroke behind fifth-place Central Elkader. Grundy Center took the team title with a very impressive 365, while Clarksville also advanced to State with a 407. North Tama (430) placed third and Central City (439) placed fourth.
