EV Girls Run to a 4-0 Start

Two more wins last week, both coming in impressive fashion, moved the English Valleys girls’ basketball to 4-0 in SICL play and kept them tied with Lynnville-Sully for first.

            North Mahaska came to town for the Bears’ first game last week, on Monday. English Valleys took full advantage of North Mahaska’s size disadvantage by feeding the ball to Rylee Voss in the post at will. Easy offense by Voss, along with fellow forward Audrey Grove, provided to punch that gave EV a 13-3 lead after the first period.

            It was more of the same in the second quarter, as the Warhawks simply couldn’t match up with the size and skill of EV’s post players. 15 more points by English Valleys in the second quarter helped give the Bears a comfy 28-12 lead at the half.
