EV golf sweeps opponents on the week with Thursday’s meet at Knoll Ridge

NORTH ENGLISH- English Valleys again saw Knoll Ridge as the site of their golf meet on Thursday, April 27 when both the boys and girls golf teams hosted Lone Tree and Montezuma. Both also took first place making it a clean sweep of their opponents on the day and throughout the week.

            The girls shot a 219, 25-strokes lower than Monte and 38-strokes ahead of Lone Tree. Lexie Miller shot a 52 on the day to medal as she had Tuesday at home as well. Jaden Pfannebecker shot one-stroke back with a 53, a season low,  to earn runner-up. Mallory Hester shot a 57, as did Isabel Coffman.

            The boys shot a season best 176, as a total of five out of six total golfers shot round’s in the 40’s. Will Tapken led the way for EV and medaled on the day with a six-over 42. Jeff Montgomery came through with a 44, as did Cooper Andreassen. Daniel Tapken shot a 46 to score the fourth highest round for EV, but Wyatt Olson shot a very good 47 as well and Ambrose Coffman had a decent 54.

            With the win’s EV’s boys squad improves to 10-7 on the year in head-to-head matchups. The girls are now a very impressive 6-2, giving the program a very respectable 16-9 mark overall in varsity golf this season thus far.
