Grassley hears from constituents in Sigourney

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley took advantage of his Easter break to visit Sigourney and listen to constituent concerns as part of his annual 99 Counties Tour.

More than 50 people crowded into the Keokuk County Courtroom to ask Iowa’s senior senator a variety of question relating to health care, the Trump Administration, inflating drug prices and his role in the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. While both sides of the political spectrum voiced their support or displeasure on some of the senator’s answers, the forum remained fairly respectful as Grassley took question from all over the room.

“Town meetings like this face to face is the very best way to draw conclusions about what is of the most interest or concern to your constituents,” Grassley said. “It’s the essence of representative government; dialogue between me and the people I represent.”
