GROWMARK, Inc. names spring 2014 Exploring Agriculture interns

GROWMARK is pleased to announce the 2014 Exploring Agriculture intern class. The Exploring Agriculture intern program was developed by GROWMARK, Inc. to help bridge the gap between students and faculty at the two-year community/technical college level and the GROWMARK system retail companies.

“Our primary focus for this intern program is to provide students with hands on Agronomy experience, gain a foundation of the GROWMARK System and industry, and prepare them to fill full time positions with that retail cooperatives,” said Allison Biggs, GROWMARK university relations recruiter.

As a participant in the Exploring Agriculture intern program, they will spend 10 weeks working for member and retail companies in the GROWMARK System. Their internship will focus on agronomy operations of the retail business.

At the end of the 10 weeks, interns will each meet with their company’s management staff to discuss their experiences and present a summary of their projects.

Cordt Holub, son of Craig Holub and Andrea Woehlk of Buckingham, Iowa., is majoring in agribusiness and working for New Century FS in LaPorte City, Iowa.
Cody White, son of John and Carolyn White of Waterloo, Iowa, is majoring in agribusiness and working for AgVantage FS in Waverly, Iowa.
