GROWMARK, Inc. names spring 2014 Exploring Agriculture interns

 

 
GROWMARK is pleased to announce the 2014 Exploring Agriculture intern class. The Exploring Agriculture intern program was developed by GROWMARK, Inc. to help bridge the gap between students and faculty at the two-year community/technical college level and the GROWMARK system retail companies.
 
“Our primary focus for this intern program is to provide students with hands on Agronomy experience, gain a foundation of the GROWMARK System and industry, and prepare them to fill full time positions with that retail cooperatives,” said Allison Biggs, GROWMARK university relations recruiter.
 
As a participant in the Exploring Agriculture intern program, they will spend 10 weeks working for member and retail companies in the GROWMARK System. Their internship will focus on agronomy operations of the retail business.
 
At the end of the 10 weeks, interns will each meet with their company’s management staff to discuss their experiences and present a summary of their projects.

Black Hawk College East Campus
  • Matt Vatland, son of Brad Sliker and Kristi Vatland of Ottawa, Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and 
    ag-production and working for GRAINCO FS, Inc. in Mazon, Ill.
  • Megan Knight, daughter of Jim and Cindy Knight of Ashton, Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and working for Ag View FS, Inc. in Ashton Ill.
Hawkeye Community College
  • Cordt Holub, son of Craig Holub and Andrea Woehlk of Buckingham, Iowa., is majoring in agribusiness and working for New Century FS in LaPorte City, Iowa.
  • Cody White, son of John and Carolyn White of Waterloo, Iowa, is majoring in agribusiness and working for AgVantage FS in Waverly, Iowa.
Lake Land College
  • Cody Enloe, son of Mark and Melody Enloe of Montrose, Ill., is majoring in ag-power and diesel power and working for South Central FS, Inc. in Effingham, Ill.
  • Mitch McMahon, son of Brent and Margo McMahon of Teutopolis, Ill., is majoring in agriculture business and supply and working for South Central FS, Inc. in Effingham, Ill.
  • Brock Norris, son of Bill and Sharon Norris of Bethany Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and working for South Central FS, Inc. in Sullivan, Ill.
  • Timothy Petty, son of David and Joyce Petty of Beecher City, Ill., is majoring in agriculture business and supply and working for South Central FS, Inc. in Stewardson, Ill.
  • Mitchell Wolff, son of Michael and Patricia Wolff of Altamont, Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and working for South Central FS, Inc. in Altamont, Ill.
North Iowa Area Community College
  • Brian Halligan, son of Steve and Jane Halligan of Charles City, Iowa, is majoring in agriculture operations and working for AgVantage FS in Waverly, Iowa.
Wabash Valley College
  • Nicholas Allison, son of Harlan Allison and Randy and Tia Stringfield of Cisne, Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and production and working for Wabash Valley Service Company in Cisne, Ill.
  • William C. Johnson, son of William G. and Debra Johnson of Allendale Ill., is majoring in agribusiness and working for Wabash Valley Service Company in Allendale, Ill.
