Hammes joins Staci Shettler Farm Bureau Agency

Residents will soon see a new face around the Staci Shettler Farm Bureau Insurance agency. Kelsey Hammes has now joined the agency, effective August 1. Hammes was born and raised in Keokuk County. She is a 2012 graduate of Sigourney High School, and went onto AIB College of Business to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Leadership. Hammes has been working in insurance ever since she graduated, saying it is a passion of hers.

“I started working for a State Farm agent in Iowa City shortly after having my first daughter and found my love for insurance. I learned so much in so little time that I never knew, nor did most anyone that I spent time with,” Hammes said.

Hammes transitioned to Farm Bureau in June and shortly thereafter contracted with the Keokuk County office. Hammes added that her normal office hours are 9 am to 5 pm weekly. She noted that she is actively taking on new clients.

“My favorite part about this job so far has been getting to chat with family, friends, and acquaintances about their lives and making sure that they are protected and taken care of. Just in the few short months I have been doing this I have helped to protect peoples futures, grown great friendships, taught close friends & family about insurance, and created a career that I will be doing for the rest of my life,” she said.
