H&M begins expansion of store

H&M Farm and Home has begun work to expand its store northward and plans to finish by February of next year.

Owners Keith and Laurie Luettjohann chose to expand after two years of ownership to carry “bigger and broad categories” ranging from equipment to a wider selection of clothes. By the end of February, H&M will have 4,000 sq feet for the added selection and a rental center for digging, lawn, construction and household equipment.

“We’re very excited because we’ve always wanted to expand H&M,” Keith Luettjohann said. “We now have to time to commit to this project and we hope the weather holds up for us.

In addition to their current selection and added equipment, the Luetjohanns plan to add more auto, plumbing, and paint items to their inventory. They also plan to expand their clothing department with brands like Under Armor in addition to Carhartt already available at the store.

Renner Construction has already built the concrete wall for the building expansion and Atwood Electric will also work on the project. H&M will also develop their greenhouse into a garden center this spring.

“It’s nice when you’re in the middle of a project and you cannot find what you need, you’ll be able to get the equipment here rather than wait a day to get it somewhere else,” Laurie Luettjohann said. “We’ll remain open as this work is being completed, so we appreciate everyone’s patience during this process.”
