Keota Boys Off and Running

Despite an unusually quick transition from basketball season into track season, the Keota boys’ track and field squad was the first team in the area to compete outdoors this spring. A prolonged basketball season gave the Eagles time for just four practices prior to their first meet on Friday in Washington, and all of them were indoors.

Even with such little preparation, the Eagles did more than hold their own on Friday against the likes of West Burlington/Notre Dame, Monticello, Mediapolis and West Delaware. Only six Eagles were able to make the trip, yet Larry Lyle’s squad still managed to tally 30 team points.

Putting together the most impressive performances, as expected, were Keota’s sprint relays.
