Keota Girls Drop Two to Start 2014

By Adam Meier,Regional Sports EditorA brutal schedule to start the New Year did not work in Keota’s favor last week. The Eagle girls fell twice on the road to two of the top teams in the SICL. On Thursday the Keota girls lost at 15th-ranked (Class 2A) Iowa Valley, 48-33, before falling at North Mahaska the next night, 44-36.The Eagles were forced to play without floor general Brooke Sieren for most of the Iowa Valley game and all of the North Mahaska game. Sieren came down with strep throat during the week and was unable to play effectively against Iowa Valley’s high-pressure zone defense. For the full article see the Jan. 15, 2014 issue of the Keota Eagle.
