On behalf of the Town Square Park, Stacy Flynn (also a local Sigourney Kiwanis member) wrote a grant application for the Kiwanis International Foundation to benefit Town Square Park and the children of the Sigourney community as well as visiting friends and relatives for generations to come.
Sigourney Area Development (SADC), the City of Sigourney and MidWestOne Bank have been early benefactors and generously given $115,000 towards the park. Community fundraising efforts and grants have caused the total to climb to nearly $150,000 as of June 2014.
The $5,000 grant presented from Kiwanis International as well as the local donation from the Sigourney Kiwanis has certainly helped in those efforts.
“We are so excited to see Town Square Park coming together and with the Kiwanis International grant we are much closer to seeing the park completed,” said members of the Town Square Park Committee.
