Lady Panthers Give It Their All v. Mepo

Less than 24 hours after its 27-point win over Lone Tree, the Pekin girls’ varsity basketball team made the long trip north to Cedar Rapids to play Mediapolis, in the 11^th annual Mercy Sports Care Rival Saturday, held at the U.S. Cellular Center.

                Coming off a 58-31 win over Lone Tree, Davis Eidahl’s Panthers played their best game of the year, against the second-ranked team in Class 3A.

                Pekin sent a message early on to undefeated Mediapolis that they weren’t going to back down. Despite losing by 21 to the Bulldogs earlier this season, the Lady Panthers played like they belong with one of the top teams in the state.
