Locked In Panthers Head to Quarterfinals

From the first snap of the postseason, it was clear that the Pekin football team is locked in.

A 67-yard touchdown run by Chase Copeland, on his first carry of the night, set the tone for Pekin’s 62-13 win over North Linn last Wednesday in the first round of districts.

A number of forced turnovers by Pekin following Copeland’s big run helped the Panthers keep adding on to their lead early against North Linn. Quarterback Trever Northup found the end zone twice in the first quarter, first on a one-yard run, then again on a 27-yarder that gave the Panthers a 21-0 lead.
