Monroe leads Tri-County against conference foes

The Tri-County boys’ track team saw some more positive results from one of their leaders, including earning the teams’ lone point, at the SICL conference meet on May 1.

    Brayden Monroe competed in three events at the conference meet, one of which he finished in the top-10 and was given one point for Tri-County. His best finish of the day was in the 400-meter hurdle event, taking eighth with a time of 1:06.42. He also ran in the 100-meter dash and anchored his team in the 800-meter sprint medley.

    Monroe ran the 14th fastest time in the 100m dash, clocking in at 12.70 seconds. He also closed out the 800m sprint medley as the team combined for a time of 1:50.59 to take 12th place.

    One of his peers also put up some good results against tough competition. Aydan Bos ran the ninth-fastest time in the 100m dash at 12.28 seconds, just shy of earning a point for the Trojans. He also finished 11th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.85 seconds and ninth in the long jump, measuring at 17’-7.00”.

    Other results are as follows:

    200-meter dash: Brandt Molyneux finished 23rd (28.86)

    400-meter dash: Jaden Himes took 14th (1:02.52), Brandt Molyneux finished 16th (1:04.85)

    800-meter run: Jakoby Williams took 16th (2:42.29), Bryce Beckett finished 19th (2:47.34)

    1600-meter run: Jakoby Williams finished 16th (7:15.15)

    Discus: Dylan Seaton took 15th (98’-8.00”), Grant Rauhauser finished 24th (64’-5.00”)

    Shot Put: Dylan Seaton took 18th (35’-1.50”), Noah McCammant finished 19th (34’-5.50”)

    The Trojans had one more competition left on their schedule before the District meet. They headed over to Iowa Valley on May 3 to prep themselves for Districts on May 10.
