Myers named park liaison for Belva Deer

Curt Myers of Sigourney will represent the southeast chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Iowa (BCHIA) as liaison to Belva Deer Recreation area as part of the organizations mission to support preserving equine trails across Iowa.

In his new position, Myers will communicate between BCHIA and Belva Deer on a regular basis to discuss improvements and needed repairs to the horse trails located in the park. Myers, whose family owns a horse training business called 4RE&MORE, has been riding horses at the park for more 15 years and has previously worked at the park with his brother JT. Due to his familiarity, Myers was reached out to by Melinda (Mendy) Wenke of BCHIA for the liaison position, knowing he was there often.

“I’m really excited and honored with this position,” Myers said. “I’ve gotten to know Mendy over camping trips, and it’s special when someone takes time to know and fell you are a fit for the position, like she did with me.”
