Name released in officer involved shooting

            According to Iowa County Sheriff’s department, one person is dead following an officer involved shooting in North English on Saturday, June 10.

            According to police records, the incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m., when a call came in from a woman that her husband was outside with a gun at their residence.

            When police arrived, witnesses told them that they had heard gun shots. Keokuk County Sheriff Department, Williamsburg Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol assisted with the incident.

            Authorities  have identified the man who was shot and killed as 53-year old Robin Blaylock. Blaylock was pronounced dead at the scene.

            The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation will be taking over the investigation. This is common procedure in an officer involved shooting.

            An autopsy for Blaylock has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 13.
