A person can only stare at his computer screen for so long trying to think of the word that best describes the feat of winning eight-straight conference championships; so we’ll just leave out the fancy adjectives or nicknames and feed you the facts.

By scoring at total of 178 points as a team at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Track & Field Championships last Thursday, the Pekin girls’ track and field team won its eighth conference title in a row.

“It’s been a great year,” first-year head coach Josh Roudabush said. “The girls have really bought into me. It’s been a learning experience for us, but after awhile we meshed together and have had a pretty great year so far. A lot of that has been due to setting high expectations and goals and getting to work every day.”
