New ordinance affects town square

If you go around the Sigourney town square, you’ll notice there are new signs that state: “Parking This Side Monday 1 AM To 7 AM  And During Snow Removal.” This allows contracted crews to clean up  waste in the streets and in the storm sewer. For years, those signs read Friday, rather than Monday.

“The way they had it set up in the past, it was being challenged. Someone took it to court and the judge said the signs were not properly worded, so the original signs had to come down.”” Doug Glandon, Sigourney mayor said. “We had to change the wording of the ordinance and how the signs were posted.
