Unbeaten and eighth-ranked Keota (Class 1A) came into the New Year with a tricky matchup against a deep Montezuma squad that had only one conference loss, which came in a five-point defeat to Lynnville-Sully.

A team that plays up to ten players, the Montezuma boys’ brought a deep bench and physical attitude to Keota on Friday, but the Eagles didn’t bat an eye. Just like they expected to, the Eagles flew past Montezuma to hand the Braves their second SICL loss in dominant fashion, 74-54.
