It was a stark contrast from last season. The 2013 Backyard Brawl between Pekin and Sigourney-Keota’s football team was decided on the final play of the game, when a low snap on a field goal attempt was picked up and taken in for a touchdown by SK’s Blaine Gretter.

The 2014 Backyard Brawl, on the other hand, was one sided and contain no last-second drama. From start to finish last Friday, head coach Joe Donovan’s Pekin team (2- 0) outperformed the Cobras (1-1) in a big way, coming through with a 45-14 win.
