Panthers Feast on the Warriors
Coming into this season, a Week 5 matchup with a talented Van Buren team looked to be one of the most difficult tests on the Pekin football team’s schedule.
It was, as it turns out, a challenging game, relative to the Panthers’ prior four games, yet Pekin, who is ranked 4th in Class A by Sports Spotlight, still cruised with ease to a 55-20 win.
Van Buren’s 20 points were the most allowed by the Pekin thus far this season, but the Panther offense was, once again, prolific.
A steady diet of running plays by junior back Chase Copeland, with a pinch of Tanner Adam and Trever Northup mixed in, were much too much for the Warriors to handle.
