Saying the Pekin boys’ basketball team is on a roll would be an understatement. After two more wins last week, the Panthers ran their win streak to ten games and remain tied atop the SEISC North with IMS.

Last Tuesday the Panthers handed Lone Tree its third loss of the season with a masterful defensive performance that got them a 49-39 win.

Pekin held a good Lone Tree offense to just 12 first-half points, which turned out to be the difference in the game. “Our defensive effort in the second quarter, which we held Lone Tree to three points, was the main reason we held them off and secured our ninth-straight win,” Pekin head coach Ken Hutchinson said.
