Promising Start for EV Football

A matchup with an opponent that won ten games a year ago isn’t an ideal welcoming gift for a team entering a new class. That’s exactly what the English Valleys football team got, though, as it played at Twin Cedars in its first game at the eight-man level.

The Sabers finished 10-2 a year ago, but that didn’t intimidate the Bears, who won one game in Class A last year. Bronson’s McCulley’s team opened up its era of eight-man football with a strong performance, playing neck and neck with a good Twin Cedars team that is a regular in the district playoffs. The Bears couldn’t quite get it done, though, as they allowed a Twin Cedars touchdown through the air with less than a minute to go in the game and fell by a score of 20-14.
