Last week the Pekin girls’ track and field team had chance to compete an unbeaten regular season, and it started Monday at Van Buren.

By winning eight events and scoring 155 points, the Lady Panthers won the team title at Van Buren and checked off the first of two meets last week needed to finish off a perfect season.

Kaylee Linder won the 100 and 200-meter dashes; Gwynne Wright won the 1,500 and 3,000-meter runs; and Mallory Reed won the 100-meter hurdles. The Lady Panthers also came in first in the sprint medley, distance medley and 4x100 meter relays.
