Rest of SICL Looking Up at the Eagles

The Keota High School varsity volleyball team is flying above the rest of the South Iowa Cedar League. At 7-0 in conference play, the Eagles have yet to be defeated and are on the path for a Conference Title.

            Two more wins last week, against North Mahaska and BGM, leave only three matches left in SICL play.

            What separates this 2014 Keota team from last year’s team, though? And why, with five returning starters back, is this team outperforming the 2013 squad? Senior outside hitter Brooke Sieren explains:

            “I feel like this year’s team gets way more excited for the games,” Sieren said. “We have a lot more chemistry. We’ve played together since seventh grade, so we know where each other is going to be.”
