Roehrig brings rivals together Friday with not one, but two memorable moments Friday

SIGOURNEY-Sometimes moments occur in sports that make us all feel good. This was the case on Friday, Jan. 27 when the Sigourney Savages hosted their rivals Keota. Austin’s family lives in Keota and Austin is well known to his family’s friends and neighbors for his bright and fun personality. Personally, I have never encountered a time with Austin that he hasn’t flashed a smile or was giggling about one thing or another. He is an awesome kid and on Friday, Roehrig was given an amazing opportunity by Mitch Eslick and Al Sellers of Sigourney. Austin dressed varsity on Friday for the first time in his career, and to say he was psyched would definitely be an understatement. He wasn’t having any questions pregame, as he smiled and waved me off when he noticed me on the baseline and I attempted to talk to him. So, to say the least, Austin was dialed in and it showed.
