Rostami honored with certification

            Sigourney Public Library Director Amanda Rostami was awarded a Public Library Director Certificate Level III for hitting several milestones in her career and academic life.

            The certificate signifies that Rostami has completed two Public Library Management courses, has 10 years of library work experience or 60 college credit hours from an accredited college or university. Since she became director of the library, Rostami has been taking classes at William Penn full time in addition to her career duties. She took over the position of Library Director at Sigourney Public Library in April of 2013 and plans to graduate from William Penn with a BA in Psychology and minor in Sociology in 2017. Afterward, Rostami will purse a Master’s Degree in Library Science and apply for higher levels of Director Certifications.

            “I love my job and just want to be able to serve our community to the best of my abilities,” Rostami said. “This is one way to ensure that.”
