Savage Girls Run at WACO

Last Thursday’s Ekstrand Relays hosted by WACO was the Sigourney girls’ track and field team’s lone meet last week after the meet at Prairie City-Monroe, which was scheduled for Monday, was rained out.

In their final meet before Tuesday’s South Iowa Cedar League Conference Meet, the Savages tallied some excellent results at WACO, namely on the legs of Becca Ohland and Jordan Carter.

In the 100-meter hurdles Ohland finished third and ran a time of 18.65 seconds. Also running a great race in the 100-meter hurdles was freshman Allison Schroeder, who placed fourth in a time of 18.73 seconds. Carter, who ran in the open 400, clocked in at 1:07 and also finished third. Carter also finished sixth in the 200 (30.93 seconds) and seventh in the 100-meter dash (14.72 seconds).
