There will be no magical postseason runs for either the Sigourney or Tri-County golf team. The Sigourney and Tri-County boys’ teams got Sectional play underway on Friday, May 16, at Keota, and were outdone by BGM and HLV.

The Bears (332) and Warriors (345) advanced on to Districts in convincing fashion. Meanwhile, the Savages didn’t bring their ‘A’ game and finished in fifth out of eight teams with 385 points; Keota finished fourth (381) and English Valleys placed third (357).

The top performer for the Savages at Sectionals was junior Colby Kerkove. Kerkove climbed back to shoot a 43 on his last nine holes to finish with a 90, after shooting a 47 through his first nine.
