Savages Keep Rolling Toward Sectionals

A perfect 6-0 mark in duals last week for the Sigourney-Keota varsity wrestling team gave way to Saturday’s Hudson Invitational.

    After dual wins against HLV, North Mahaska and Moravia on Tuesday, following by wins in Marengo over North Mahaska, Iowa Valley and WACO, the Savages headed to Hudson and came away with on individual champ and a number of other solid finishes.

    Leading the way for SK was fifth-ranked Nathan Fritz. Fritz took first place at Hudson by winning a 4-2 decision over Charles City’s Jake Niichel, to improve his mark to 31-1 on the season. Fritz also beat Columbus Catholic’s Kaleb Boleyn and North Fayette Valley’s Austin DeMuth on Saturday; each had just four loses coming in.
