The English Valleys softball team had a tough going of things in games early last week and on Saturday at a tournament in Vinton.

The Bears fell on Monday to second-ranked (1A) Lynnville-Sully, 16-0; on Tuesday to West Branch, 14-4; and on Wednesday to Iowa Valley, 13-1.

The Bears kept their heads up after three tough losses, though, and brought the lumber on Friday to Keota.
