Short and medium distance lead way for Lady Trojans

It was a long time coming but the Lady Trojans finally had their first outdoor meet of the season over in North Mahaska on April 5. Tri-County had some of their better finishes in the short and medium distance events.

Both girls who ran in the open 100-meter dash were able to place in the top 10. Reace Thomas finished seventh in the event with 15.21 seconds, while Riley Danner followed up with a ninth-place finish at 15.22 seconds.

Mckenzie Hammes was able to take seventh in the 400-meter dash behind a 1:15.54 run. The best finish of the day was off the track as Miranda Little took fourth in the discus (89’-2.00”) and followed that up with a seventh-place finish in the shot put (26’-9.00”).

Other results are as follows:

200-meter dash: Taylor Dowd took 11th (32.52), Riley Danner finished 15th (34.92)

800-meter sprint medley: Tri-County finished seventh (2:13.62)

The Lady Trojans will look to get some more experience under their belt when they competed at Pekin on April 12.
