Sigourney City Council Meeting

There was discussion regarding the disposition of a vicious acting dog. Two area residents were present to discuss how the dog was aggressive towards them and family members. It was approved that the owners of the dog will have to find another home for the dog. They will receive a letter and have ten days to find a new home for the dog and report to the police department when they got rid of it and where it went. There was also discussion of a dog by the same owners that is constantly barking. Police Chief Alan Glandon stated that they were charged for the nuisance.

A local resident wanted permission to bring a half pit bull mix into town. There is a city ordinance in place that states a pit bull of any kind is prohibited. The owner of the dog has been keeping it at another location outside of town, but has maintained all shots. The council voted that they would not make an exception and will follow the city ordinance.
