Stacy Sterrett

Stacy Lea Sterett, 40 died Sept. 7, 2014. She was born Nov. 16, 1973 to Dennis and Vernelda Heisdorffer Sterrett in Sigourney. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1992. She graduated from William Penn College and later received her Masters from Iowa State. She taught at Winfield-Mt Union and Marshalltown and was a driver’s education instructor.                                                                                                   

Stacy served in the Iowa Air National Guard and the United States Air Force from 1993-2010. She was currently employed at Job Corps as a transition counselor in Ottumwa. Stacy enjoyed making memories with her son Ian, camping, fishing, working on her bucket list and was an avid Hawkeye fan.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Vendia Sterrett and Leonard and Esther Heisdorffer.                                                                                                                                                                                       

 She is survived by her son Ian Richard-Sterrett of Des Moines, her parents, Dennis and Vernelda Sterrett of Harper, sister Shelly (George) Wetzel of Senoia, Ga. And a brother, Anthony Sterrett of North Liberty.
