Statement Made by Keota Volleyball

Last week had the potential to be monumental for the Keota High School volleyball team. Showdowns with two of the top contenders in the South Iowa Cedar League, Iowa Valley and Belle Plaine, made it a statement week, good or bad, for the Eagles.

            The week started in Marengo against last year’s conference champs. Even after losing a host of starters from a year ago, the Tigers still field a potent team, but Keota’s returning experience and chemistry made all the difference on this night.

            The Eagles got out to a quick lead in the first send and wound up leading the entire way, before finally finishing off the Tigers, 25-22.
