A Strong Finish: Just What Sigourney Needed

Entering postseason play on a losing streak isn’t a scenario that any team wants to face. Because of that, last week’s two games for the Sigourney boys, their final two of the regular season, carried a great amount of importance for the Savages, as they were riding a three-game skid heading into Tuesday’s game against North Mahaska.

After seniors Colby Kerkove and Colton Powers were honored for Senior Night, the Savages got to work in the first quarter, using a pair of Matus Stevko 3-pointers to gain an early 18-11 lead, on their way to a 71-52 win.
