Strong Opening Week for SK Wrestling
The highly anticipated Sigourney-Keota wrestling season got going last Tuesday in a quad at BGM with Lynnville-Sully, Pekin and the Bears.
The Savages took advantage of their strong numbers, receiving forfeit points at a number of weight classes throughout the night, to win all three of their matchups.
Despite winning only one match and losing four against BGM, the Savages till pulled out the 42-30 win with the help of six BGM forfeits.
Winning the lone match against the Bears was 170-pounder Noah Boender, who pinned Price Hall.
SK finished with six wins and four losses, not counting forfeits, in its matchup with Lynnville-Sully.
