What better way is there to make an early season statement than beating one of the state’s best teams from a year ago?
The Sigourney-Keota football team defeated BGM, last year’s Class A runner up, on Friday, and it did it convincingly. The Cobras scored touchdowns on their first two possessions and stayed locked in defensively for four straight quarters to win at BGM, 28-14.
“We expected to win, but maybe not in the fashion we did,” said SK head coach Jared Jensen. “We just have so many good backs, and our line is smaller than it was last year, but the guys worked their butts off tonight. Things just worked out for us tonight; a lot of big plays. We were on it.”
